Tasting #12
Name: Jekel
Variety: Monterey Pinot Noir
Region: Monterey, California
Country: United States
Year: 2015
Price: $9.95
Shop/Wine Critic Review: “Barely noticeable aromas of wet rocks and sour red-fruit
skins try to show on the nose of this wine. The palate is characterized by iron, wet
rocks and dust flavors, without much fruit” (Wine Enthusiast).
My Review: Jekel was very blah for me. It had hints of oak, chocolate, butterscotch, and dark cherry. Also, something about the taste reminded me of a burnt match which wasn’t great. I did not have this wine with food.
